Yea I tried all of the altimeters, and yea this was the only one that worked! Nothing brilliant... But it does what it says it does just measure altitude, and its Free!

I took this altimeter app hiking in the Smoky Mountains and it worked well in my opinion. It was close to the posted altitude at Clingmans Dome, 6643 feet.
Waited 15min still says gps not ready. Using on 3G phone with OS 4.1!!
Works as advertised. Very accurate. I tested against "known" elevations and was within a few feet; Worst case was about 25. Not bad for a free app. I wor at various elevations and comes in handy
I downloaded the free version on my iPhone 3GS. The app continues to display "GPS not ready." Time to try a different app...
Used to work fine here in mountains, but hasnt for quite some time
Looks like you have to buy it. After installing it always reads zero. If you click the info button it wants you to buy it.
Not sure why some are saying it doesnt work other than they installed it indoors and tried it without going outside? It doesnt work for me indoors but works fine outdoors.
This was my first app ever loaded (inside) and so far do not appear to have any problems. It definitely does not work indoors, but outside seems to be fine. I have not had a reliable chance to verify the accuracy however.
Didnt work, in or outside, and the latitude/longitude said my position was in south korea, lol
POS doesnt work. I know that Im at least 2,700 feet high but it showed 1,300 feet and took about 10 minutes to raise to about 2,100. Dont do it.
When I get an altitude readung, it seems to be accurate. The problem is that it seems to only work intermittently...in some locations it works fine, but in other locatiosn it indicates that "GPS Not Ready".
Just downloaded this app on my front porch and it seems to work just fine. I live at just under 5000 and it showed just over 5000. I bet its within 50 accuracy. Cant wait to try it up driving in the mountains in the areas that have 3G. Be sure it is set on feet and not meters.
About right Im really 7000 ft
Never worked, kept saying GPS not ready. Deleted App.
Doesnt work... Period. Says GPS not ready. I deleted it. Useless.
works very well
I tried it at a number if different elevations and it worked very well.
This app would be great if it actually showed the complete altitude. I live above 10,000 ft and it cuts off the last few digits.
Just visited Breckenridge Co. Worked very accurate. Took longer above 10,000 feet, but so did I.
